Expo City To Have Ramadan Cannons For The Holy Month

You can expect an experience in the holy month of Ramadan in Dubai. Global Village and Expo City have launched tons of new activities and markets for the month of Ramadan. And now, to add more galore to the festive spirit, Expo City has announced that traditional Ramadan cannons will be fired in front of the iconic Al Wasl Plaza. Read on to know more.

Expo City Dubai took to Twitter and announced that Ramadan cannon would be fired daily at sunset starting from the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. Expo City Dubai took to Twitter and shared this announcement with a 20-second video. The video showcases the cannon being prepared by four officers by following the protocol.

In terms of Iftar cannons, it is a tradition dating back to the 1960s, and in 2022, over 10 locations across Dubai celebrated Ramadan by firing cannons. One shot is fired to mark the end of daily fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, signalling the beginning of Iftar. It brings communities together and adds more to the festive spirit of Ramadan.
