Dubai Municipality’s Ramadan Souq returns for its third season

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, the bustling Grand Souq in Deira has transformed into a vibrant Ramadan Souq for its third season, creating a one-stop destination for all Ramadan essentials. Open daily from January 25 to February 22, 10 AM to 10 PM, this cultural hub is a must-visit for residents and tourists alike.

Everything You Need for Ramadan Under One Roof

The Ramadan Souq brings together a wide variety of products, catering to those preparing for the sacred month. Shoppers can browse for traditional clothing, home décor, kitchenware, and more. The market also features an extensive selection of dates, sweets, and other traditional treats essential for iftar and suhoor. Special items for the Emirati celebration of ‘Hag Al Laila,’ which falls on February 14 this year, are also available.

With competitive prices and unique offerings, the souq ensures that visitors can stock up on everything they need for the month of fasting, all while enjoying the charm of a traditional market.

Family-Friendly Activities and Entertainment

This year, the Ramadan Souq goes beyond shopping, offering a dynamic lineup of live performances, workshops, and kid-friendly activities. From cultural displays to interactive sessions, the event ensures there’s something for everyone, making it a perfect outing for families.

Celebrating Heritage and Tradition

Set in the historic Grand Souq of Deira, this event highlights Dubai’s dedication to preserving its cultural legacy. The souq not only serves as a shopping destination but also as a symbol of the city’s rich history. Organizers have worked hard to ensure the traditional market remains a living testament to Dubai’s heritage, blending modern convenience with cultural authenticity.

Asem Al Qassim, Director of the Architectural Heritage and Antiquities Department at Dubai Municipality, emphasized the importance of the souq, stating that it is a key event celebrating the spirit of Ramadan and the cultural richness of Dubai.

Key Dates for Ramadan 2025

The crescent moon, which marks the beginning of Ramadan, is expected to be sighted on the evening of February 28, with fasting set to start on March 1. For those looking to get ahead on their preparations, the Ramadan Souq offers an ideal opportunity to ensure everything is in place before the holy month begins.
