Critically Acclaimed Musical, Hamilton Is Coming To Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena In January 2024

When we talk about larger-than-life musicals and Broadway shows, cities like New York and London come to our mind; however, UAE’s capital, Abu Dhabi, is slowly getting into the Broadway scene after hosting the award-winning The Lion King Broadway, Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena is all set to welcome the award-winning iconic musical- Hamilton. The first-ever show of the US musical Hamilton in the Middle East will be held in Abu Dhabi in January 2024; read on for all the deets.

Hamilton’s First Show In the Middle East To Take Place In Abu Dhabi On January 17

The Tony, Grammy, Olivier and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical- Hamilton will be making a debut in Abu Dhabi at Etihad Arena from 17 January until 4 February 2024. The Broadway show will run for three weeks, and the waitlist for the tickets has already begun. Head to Etihad Arena’s website, sign up for the waitlist and be the first one to get your Hamilton tickets. The Waitlist ends on May 19 at 11 AM, so make sure to sign up before that. For tickets, pre-sale tickets will be available on Friday, May 19. General tickets will go on sale on May 22, with prices starting from AED180 for the Bronze category to AED1,700 for a spot at the Royal First Row. 

Offering the perfect amalgamation of hip-hop, jazz, R&B and Broadway, Hamilton narrates the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton, who also became the right-hand man of George Washington during the American Revolutionary War. It is the story of America then told by America now.

It is the brainchild of Lin Manuel-Miranda, who has worked on the music, lyrics and script of this iconic musical, and it took seven years for everything to come together; the process for scripting, music and other things started in 2009. Directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, Hamilton is based on Alexander Hamilton- Ron Chernow’s acclaimed biography.

Talking about the musical, it is rapped and sung throughout, and with dramatic outfits, an intriguing storyline and a picture-perfect set-up, this one is a must-watch.
