UAE announces cannon firing locations during Ramadan

Ramadan is just around the corner and  the UAE’s Ministry of Defence has revealed the locations of Iftar cannons in the Emirates. Throughout the holy month, the call to Maghrib prayer and the beginning of Iftar time are signaled by the firing of cannons.

The Iftar cannon will be fired during the Holy month of Ramadan in emirates across the UAE. The cannon firing is a long-standing tradition in the region which adheres to the social heritage and brings out the Emirati culture. This year, cannon firing will happen at seven designated spots in the UAE.

Cannon Firing in dubai

1. Expo City Dubai (in front of the iconic Al Wasl Plaza), near Burj Khalifa

2. Dubai Festival City

3. Madinat Jumeirah

4. Damac

5. Hatta Guest House

6. Madinat Jumeirah

7. Uptown Mirdiff

Cannon Firing in Abu Dhabi

1. Sheikh Zayed Mosque

2. Qasr Al-Hosn

3. Umm Al-Emarat Park in the Mushrif region

4. City of Shahama in the Formula parking

In Al-Ain city, the firing will take place in the Zakher area near the wedding hall and Al-Jahili Fort, and the city of Al-Dhafra it will be in Adnoc Gardens. In Ras Al Khaimah, it will be present in the Al Qawasim Corniche at the Flagpole and in Umm Al Quwain in the Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
