Throw paint on the walls & Unleash the painter in you at Dubai’s First Paint Splatter Room

Picture this: A gorgeous setting, blank canvas, oodles of art supplies and you! Isn’t this the best space to be? Throw paint on the walls, lets your creativity flow and create a piece to art to take home, or just splash colours and have a blast! If this is your definition of ‘me time’, or unwinding, you gotta head to Expression Room in Medaf Studio, a creative art space in Uptown Mirdiff Mall.

What can you expect at the expression room?

Splatter rooms, a trend that has taken the world by storm, give stressed-out adults a youthful haven to let free and defy the rules. The Expression Room is one such space.

Do you recall how your school’s art instructor insisted you color within the lines? Once you’re inside the Expression Room, the only guideline you have to abide by is to disregard that directive. Paint is literally oozing from the walls, plastered on the floors, and even the ceiling in this riot of color. Imagine if a rainbow burst within a space and kept doing so, coating everything in color on top of itself.

The space is your canvas, whether you want to channel your inner Jackson Pollock and delicately splatter patterns or blot swirls onto a canvas with a paintbrush, or you want to hurl paint-filled balloons haphazardly around the room in an outburst of wrath. Our eyes immediately glowed at the third chaotic option: you could gleefully let swinging paint tubes shower down on you as they coloredly drizzled!

To prevent a costly dry-cleaning bill from resulting from your contact with color, the venue provides overalls, protective goggles, gloves, and masks. The cost of the experience is also decided by the size of the canvas you select and includes all the paint and art supplies.

You may blowdry the artwork and take it home once the 90-minute, hallucinogenic painting experience is through. The water-based colors will take about 30 minutes to dry, but the finished product is an abstract object of art that will serve as a perpetually cheery reminder of the happier, lighter side of life.

The Expression Room can accommodate six to eight people at once, making it a fantastic team-building activity, unique birthday party, or even simply a solo attempt at de-stressing and expressing your sentiments through colors.
