Sharjah Airport records over 3.8m passengers in Q1 2023

If you thought Dubai is the only emirate which welcomes millions of visitors, you maybe wrong. In a recent Twitter post, Sharjah airport revealed that it welcomed more than 3.8 million passengers in the first quarter of 2023. This is a 28.01 per cent increase from its 2022 numbers. That’s not all! The airport is expecting to receive even higher growth rates by the year end due to its services for passengers.

We take this opportunity to reiterate our commitment to advancing passenger and cargo growth, particularly in light of the airport’s expansion efforts, which will increase its capacity to 20 million passengers by 2026,” he added.

Aviation website Skytrax has unveiled its list of the world’s best airports in 2023 and Dubai bagged the 17th position. The World Airport Awards from Skytrax are among the most prestigious in the airport sector. The annual ranking is based on the experiences travelers have at the airport. Visitors are asked to rate various aspects of their journeys, ranging from check-in services to airport facilities.

Pushing out Qatar from the throne, Singapore’s Changi Airport took the number one spot. Other airports in the Gulf received individual recognition in the 2023 Skytrax awards. Click here for the full list.
