Unveiled: Now, that season 2 of ‘Dubai Bling’ is renewed, the excitement is real but, there’s a revelation. Netflix’s payment to the glitzy Dubai Bling stars was a mere AED 9,175 ($2.5k) per episode, as uncovered by Arabian Business. The rich reality series showcasing the extravagant lifestyle of ten Dubai millionaires was recently given the green light for season 2, currently in production. Although the show was marketed as a tribute to luxurious living, complete with high-end sports cars and personal choppers, the cast themselves were hardly compensated for their performances, with the promise of a 5% pay bump for season two.
In a startling revelation, it has been disclosed that Mona Kattan, and any other fresh face joining the cast of Dubai Bling, will only receive payment of AED 9,175. A behind-the-scenes source claims that the cast was so fixated on achieving fame that the paltry compensation was hardly a point of contention and that some may have even worked for free.
To put things into perspective, the Kardashians raked in a staggering $100 million for just two seasons and 40 episodes of their eponymous reality show, with individual family members earning a whopping $15 million for their time in front of the cameras, as per Variety. Meanwhile, Netflix, the streaming giant behind Dubai Bling, boasts a net worth of $160 billion and clocked up an extra 7.66 million subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2022 alone, with revenues of $7.85 billion.
