And recently, as per a new HSBC Survey, Expats in Dubai chose the emirate because of the lifestyle and salaries it has to offer. The results revealed that lifestyle was the key motivation for expats to relocate to the UAE. Around 36 per cent of people agreed that expats have increased earnings when they relocate to the emirate, 34 per cent said that the country is best for family stability, whereas 30 per cent agreed that there are more options for living a more sustainable lifestyle.

Expats In Dubai Can Do Business Freely

If you dream of becoming an entrepreneur and want to start your own business, Dubai is for you. The economy of the emirate is moving at a rapid pace, and it offers a lot of opportunities for entrepreneurs who are looking for career advancement. There are a lot of ‘Free Zones’ making it easier to do business, plus it’s easier to network in Dubai and with word of mouth, Expats in Dubai can easily set up their business in the emirate.

Business owners in free zones have 100 per cent ownership of their business. And when you have a business in free zones, you are exempted from all types of taxation- Value Added Tax (VAT), Income Tax, Corporate Tax and Customs.

Expats in Dubai set up businesses in different free zones like DCCA Area, which includes Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and more. The other Freezone is DMCC which includes- Jumeirah Lakes Towers. Other Free zones in Dubai are – Dubai Maritime City Authority, Dubai World Trade Centre, Meydan, Dubai South and more.

Crime Is Very Low In Dubai

Dubai is a very tolerant emirate, and with strict rules in place, the crime rate in Dubai is very low. It is so because UAE as a country maintains a zero-tolerance for all crimes. It is also one of the most moderate in terms of religion and Islam. As an Expat in Dubai, you should respect the religion, but you will never be forced to follow it. The emirate is liberal in its approach and lets everyone choose and follow their own beliefs. And with hefty fines and punishments in place, it’s difficult to get away with a crime in Dubai.

Expats In Dubai Get Lots Of Schooling, Housing & Other Benefits

When you move to Dubai, depending on the scale of your job and company, you will be given various perks and benefits. According to an article in Visit Dubai, several big companies in the emirate offer senior management recruits private education subsidies for their children relocating to the city from abroad. Besides this, many companies provide their employees with travel allowances as an additional incentive. These allowances can range between hundreds to thousands of dollars per month. Some expats in Dubai also have a housing allowance, pension schemes, Gratuities and more.

Expats In Dubai Don’t Pay Taxes

The best thing about UAE as a whole is that the country is tax-free. It means that UAE does not levy income tax on individuals. However, it levies a corporate tax on oil companies and foreign banks. And when it comes to Excise tax, it is levied on specific goods which are typically harmful to human health or the environment. Whereas Value Added Tax is levied on a majority of goods and services.

New research by Picodi.com revealed that Dubai’s public transport fares are among the cheapest cities. A monthly pass costs AED 350, which is only 2.3 per cent of the average net wage in the UAE, the study revealed. Dubai ranked among the top 10 cities with the most affordable public transport in the world. Picodi.com analysed the public transport fares in 45 cities worldwide and juxtaposed the transport expenses with local average wages. The study took into consideration aspects like single ticket prices, as well as monthly passes, which allow for unlimited travel within the city limits.
