Faster tunnelling technology is speeding up construction
According to the RTA, the latest tunnelling works are being carried out using Al Wugeisha, a next-generation tunnel boring machine equipped with advanced digital guidance and monitoring systems.
The machine is capable of excavating around 30 metres per day, significantly faster than the equipment used during the construction of Dubai’s original Metro tunnels nearly two decades ago.
