Croissants to coffee: This dubai cafe will make you go ‘oh my goth’

In a world where restaurants are decorated Instagrammable hues and decor, this cafe in Dubai stands out in its sweet way. Be ready to step into a world of greys at The Grey, a cafe with modern design and dark menu. Well, if not anything, this cafe is certainly persuading us to join the dark side (in a good way). From the food it serves to the quirky interiors, this place does it all with a twist- which is why you need to drop by and spam your gram!

The Grey cafe is a universe created for the connoisseurs of quality. It’s all about coffee, food, space and the overlapping experience created in between. With a bespoke feel and a subtle vibe, The Grey is the newest epicenter for creative freedom, inspiring ideas, and beautiful interactions. Once here, guests can be part of an ambitious lifestyle that embodies the transcendent meeting of diverse cultures, minds, and communities, here in (the heart of) Dubai.

The Grey offers an eerie atmosphere in addition to moody black cocktails and Instagram-friendly food. Scandi-chic minimalism is evoked by the cafe’s stark white and black exteriors, and this theme is carried inside as well, albeit with more grey tones.

The monotones are broken up by mustard-colored sofas, sunny egg yolks, vivid green avocado salads, bowls of edamame and matcha lattes, and berry-colored mocktails that appear occasionally on platters. Since this café is called The Grey and successfully treads the line between black and white, it’s not entirely gothic gloom and doom.

As for the food, you’ve got it all! From breakfast to big eats and decadent desserts, the cafe whips it all- in BLACK! Yes, you read that right. The all-black food and drinks on the menu is sure to grab your attention, and that of your camera. While foodies can go berserk with a bespoke menu like this, we recommend you try their black, crumbly croissant and brioches. Firstly, these way more photogenic than any piece of bread and of course, you tastebuds will love it too.

And, that’s not the only item that steals the show. The menu boasts a whole range of ‘black’ dishes including charcoal eggs Benedict, charcoal sourdough avo toast, and charcoal bun.

Wash it all down with dark and delicious drinks. Showstoppers that draw repeat customers include the charcoal oat latte and ash grey boba which is the kind of serious grown-up version of boba you could carry into a meeting. Besides, there’s a dark version of the humble hibiscus tea which is sure to bring a smile on your face- so don’t miss it!

As if all that wasn’t enough there’s ice creams served in charcoal-infused cones! What’s not to love- right?

Brb, just heading to The Grey!
