Salik Introduces Automatic Parking Payments Across 18 New Dubai Locations

Say goodbye to tickets and queues – Dubai introduces a faster, smarter way to pay for parking

Parking in Dubai is being transformed once again, with Salik extending its automatic payment system to 18 new locations across the city. This move allows drivers to park their vehicles without using tickets, waiting at gates, or facing long queues—making everyday errands smoother and more efficient.

The initiative is part of Salik’s collaboration with Parkonic, the UAE’s largest private parking operator, and supports the country’s smart city objectives by enhancing convenience and reducing time spent on routine tasks.

A Step Towards Smarter Parking in Dubai

In a fast-moving city like Dubai, parking can often be a time-consuming task. Traditional systems usually involve paper tickets, barriers, or mobile payments, which can cause delays and confusion, especially in crowded areas.

Salik’s new system removes these hassles. Drivers can now enter and exit parking areas without stopping to pay manually. The parking fee is automatically deducted from their Salik eWallet, allowing for a smooth and contactless experience.

Where Is the New System Being Introduced?

The automatic payment system will soon be available in 18 new locations across Dubai. These include:

  • Union Coop Nad Al Hamar
  • Union Coop Al Twar
  • Union Coop Silicon Oasis
  • Union Coop Al Qouz
  • Union Coop Al Barsha
  • Union Coop Mankhool
  • Union Coop Umm Suqeim
  • Lulu Hypermarket Al Qusais
  • Heera Beach
  • Park Islands
  • Marina Walk
  • West Palm Beach
  • The Beach at JBR
  • Opus Tower
  • Azure Residence

These locations cover a wide range of residential, retail, and leisure destinations, making it easier for more people to benefit from the system.

How the System Works

Salik’s automatic parking solution is designed to be effortless to use. Here’s how it works:

  • Drive in – As the car enters a participating site, cameras detect the license plate and log the entry.
  • Park without delay – There are no barriers or tickets involved.
  • Exit and pay automatically – Once the vehicle leaves, the parking fee is deducted from the Salik eWallet.

This fully automated system means drivers no longer need to worry about forgetting to pay or searching for machines.

Parkonic’s role in transforming parking

Parkonic, known for its AI-based parking systems, plays a vital role in powering the infrastructure behind this service. Their technology is already active at several other sites across the UAE, including:

  • Central Park, Global Village, and The Beach – JBR in Dubai
  • Arc Towers and Marsa Al Bateen in Abu Dhabi
  • Al Suhub and Heart of Sharjah in Sharjah
  • Umbrella Beach in Fujairah

More locations will soon join the Salik-enabled payment platform as the network expands.

Supporting Dubai’s Smart City Goals

This initiative is part of a larger plan to make Dubai a smarter and more connected city. Salik’s CEO, Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, has said that the goal is to improve the overall parking experience while also supporting the UAE’s vision for digital transformation.

By combining Salik’s eWallet with Parkonic’s smart technology, the partnership is helping to modernize how parking works in the city.

Already Available in Other Locations

Parkonic has already introduced similar systems in locations like Central Park, Global Village, and The Beach in Dubai. Outside the city, it’s also active in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah, covering areas such as:

  • Arc Towers and Marsa Al Bateen (Abu Dhabi)
  • Sheikh Zayed Festival (Abu Dhabi)
  • Al Suhub, Khorfakkan Beach, Al Qasba, and Heart of Sharjah (Sharjah)
  • Umbrella Beach (Fujairah)

These early launches have shown positive results, which is why the system is now expanding further in Dubai.

Drivers’ duty

To use the new system, drivers should make sure they have a registered Salik account and that their eWallet has a sufficient balance. No extra registration is needed to park at the listed locations once the system is live.

The addition of these 18 locations is just the beginning. Dubai adds more parking sites as it expands smart infrastructure and urban services.

For now, this change means that daily tasks like shopping or visiting the beach can be a little smoother and a lot faster—one more step toward a smarter Dubai.
