UAE Weather Alert: Brace for a Sudden Drop in Temperature

Prepare for Rain, and Fog in next 2 months

Residents of the UAE should prepare for a shift in weather conditions over the next two months, as experts predict a noticeable drop in temperatures along with increased chances of rain and fog. This transition from the sweltering summer to the cooler autumn season will bring about a 5? decrease in temperatures, making the weather more variable and unpredictable.

Temperature Drop and Weather Changes

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the UAE will see a gradual decrease in temperatures from September to November. Currently, daytime temperatures range between 42? and 45?. By October, meteorologists expect the temperature range to drop by 2 to 3?, settling between 38? and 42?. They forecast further decreases for November, with temperatures anticipated to fall to between 35? and 39?.

Increased Humidity and Fog

As temperatures drop, humidity levels are expected to rise, particularly in coastal regions. This increase in humidity raises the likelihood of fog and mist, especially during the early morning hours. Dr. Ahmed Habib, a climate expert at NCM, has noted that relative humidity levels have already seen a slight increase this month compared to August.

Rain and Atmospheric Pressure Systems

While meteorologists do not expect immediate rainfall, they anticipate Cumulonimbus clouds forming in the northern and eastern regions, potentially leading to rain or thunderstorms. A low-pressure system from the west is bringing moisture that influences these weather patterns.

Preparing for Variable Weather

Experts advise residents to prepare for more variable and unpredictable weather patterns. The autumn equinox on September 22 marked the official transition to the season, with days gradually shortening as winter approaches. The Suhail star’s sighting on August 24 marked the end of peak summer and the start of a 40-day transition to cooler temperatures.

As the UAE shifts to autumn, residents can expect cooler temperatures, higher humidity, and more fog and rain. Staying informed and prepared for these changes will help residents navigate the upcoming months with ease.
