Saudi Arabia Announces Major Changes In Citizenship Rules

Saudi Arabia is planning to become a futuristic and visionary country as per its 2030 vision. And now, after announcing a visa update for GCC residents, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced that it will grant its citizenship to certain individuals based on a decision to be issued by the Prime Minister.

Emirates of Mecca announced this news on their official Twitter account. As per the decision, Saudi nationality may be granted by order of the Prime Minister upon a proposal from the Minister of Interior.

In terms of visas, the ministry is inviting tourists from across GCC countries to visit the country, and one can apply for a tourist visa online by visiting visitsaudi.com/visa. The move to allow tourists from GCC residents to explore the kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes in place since the ministry wants everyone to visit various attractions, entertainment activities, and heritage sites that Saudi.

GCC residents can now obtain an E-visa provided their residence permit is valid for not less than three months. It not only applies to the residents but also to their relatives accompanying them and their domestic help. And the best part is this visa process is simple, convenient and less time-consuming. Go to Visit Saudi’s website, go to the e-visa page, fill out the required form, upload the necessary documents, pay the visa fees, and you will receive your e-visa by email.

And if you want to visit the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, there’s one catch that you must know. Please note that the tourist visa does not allow the holder to perform Hajj or Umrah during the Hajj season. Besides, tourists also need to follow all the rules and instructions while they are in Saudi, and carrying identification documents at all times is a must.
