Recently, Ranbir Kapoor dropped some juicy deets about his first encounter with Alia and their 11-year age gap. During a chat on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, Ranbir took a nostalgic trip down memory lane. He revealed that the legendary Sanjay Leela Bhansali had once dreamt of making a film on child marriage titled Balika Vadhu, starring none other than Ranbir and a nine-year-old Alia! Can you imagine that?
Ranbir shared, “I’m so lucky I married someone who’s not just my wife but my best friend. We laugh, chat, and even bitch about things together. Alia is a wonderful person, full of life, and yes, she’s 11 years younger than me. The first time I met her, she was just 9, and I was 20. We did a photoshoot for Bhansali’s Balika Vadhu. It’s funny to think about it now.”
Gushing about his wife, Ranbir added, “Over the years, Alia became someone I realized is truly special. I respect her immensely – as an actor, artist, daughter, and sister. She makes me smile, whether we’re on a holiday or just chilling at home.”
Tying the knot on April 14, 2022, Ranbir and Alia’s love story is the stuff of dreams. Their bond only grew stronger with the arrival of their beautiful daughter, Raha. And guess what? The dynamic duo is all set to share the screen again in an upcoming flick titled Love and War, alongside the talented Vicky Kaushal.
