While Fawad Khan has had his fair share of Bollywood magic, from Khoobsurat to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. But now post-Operation Sindoor climate has stirred some serious heat, and not the dreamy kind.
Fawad Khan Drops a Hot Take, But It’s Cold Comfort for Many
Fawad Khan just lit the matchstick in the middle of an already blazing political fire. The once Bollywood sweetheart, who was all set to return to Indian screens with Abir Gulaal opposite Vaani Kapoor, found himself at the centre of a controversy – again. This time, it’s all thanks to his comment on India’s Operation Sindoor, and let’s just say, it didn’t land well with either side.
Taking to Instagram Stories, the actor penned what he probably thought was a heartfelt note. He called India’s precise strike on nine terror launchpads in Pakistan and PoK “shameful,” offered condolences exclusively to victims on his side of the fence, and even threw in a “Pakistan Zindabad” for good measure.
He shared, “My deepest condolences to the families of those injured and killed in this shameful attack. I pray for the souls of the deceased and strength for their loved ones in the days to come. A respectful request to all: stop stoking the flames with rabble-rousing words. It is not worth the lives of innocent people. May better sense prevail. InshaAllah. Pakistan Zindabad!”

If Fawad expected a round of applause, he definitely misread the room. While Pakistani fans slammed him for ignoring Indian victims of the Pahalgam attack, Indian netizens were far from forgiving either. The backlash was instant, intense, and international. Many accused him of tone-deaf timing and biased sympathies, especially after the terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives, including one Nepali.
Operation Sindoor: Bollywood Applauds, Fawad… Not So Much
While B-town stars like Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Suniel Shetty, and even Paresh Rawal hailed the Indian Armed Forces for a mission well executed, Fawad took a starkly different route. His “let’s all just be peaceful” tone didn’t vibe with the national sentiment that screamed justice and accountability.
Fawad’s starry comeback with Abir Gulaal was already a buzzy affair, but now it’s being overshadowed by diplomatic drama. Will Bollywood still roll out the red carpet, or is his grand return going to be benched indefinitely? Well, the vibe check isn’t looking too hot right now.
