King Salman Park to Become the World’s Largest Urban Park by 2025

Transforming Riyadh into a greener, more vibrant city

King Salman Park is on track to become the world’s largest urban park by 2025, promising to transform Riyadh into a greener and more vibrant city. This massive project, part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, isn’t just about creating a park; it’s about bringing nature back into the city and improving the quality of life for everyone in Riyadh.

A Green Revolution in Riyadh

King Salman Park is more than just another park—it’s a game-changer for Riyadh. At 16.6 km², it will be the world’s largest urban park, surpassing Hyde Park and Central Park. Located on the former Riyadh Airways site, this project will become a green oasis in the city’s heart.

A Natural Home for Plants and Animals

One of the key goals of King Salman Park is to create a thriving ecosystem for plants and animals. Over 11.6 km² of the park will be dedicated to green spaces, with one million trees planted to boost the city’s green cover. The park will also feature a vertical garden, an Islamic-style garden, and various spaces designed to attract and protect different species, including birds and butterflies.

A Place for Recreation and Relaxation

The park is designed to be a place where people can unwind, enjoy nature, and take part in a variety of activities. The park’s valley, covering 800,000 m², will include several bodies of water, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and a haven for migratory birds. A 7.2 km pedestrian walkway will provide a peaceful environment for walking, jogging, and connecting with nature.

Focus on Sustainability

Sustainability is at the heart of King Salman Park’s design. The extensive green spaces and tree-planting efforts will help cool down the city and improve the overall climate in Riyadh. By offering easy access to main roads and public transportation, the park will also promote eco-friendly travel options.

King Salman Park – A Landmark for the Future

Opening in 2025, King Salman Park will symbolize Riyadh’s future. This project will create a beautiful space for everyone while making the city more sustainable and livable. King Salman Park will be a must-see destination, highlighting the best of Riyadh.
