In a shocking turn of events, Sukesh Chandrashekhar, the alleged conman, was caught on CCTV breaking down in front of police officers after a surprise raid on his prison cell at Delhi’s Mandoli jail. The raid resulted in the seizure of lakhs worth of items, further complicating the money laundering case in which he is involved.
Chandrashekhar’s troubles began with his arrest in a case worth ?200 crores, which involved questioning Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi police. Recently, he faced fresh charges in a money laundering case connected to former Religare promoter Malvinder Singh’s wife, Japna. Japna allegedly paid ?3.5 crores under the belief that the money would be used to bail her husband out of jail.
This is not the first time Chandrashekhar has been accused of fraud. In another money laundering case, he is alleged to have duped Aditi Singh, the wife of Malvinder Singh’s brother Shivinder Singh. The Enforcement Directorate has been investigating these cases and has arrested Chandrashekhar for his involvement.
During her recent statement to the Enforcement Directorate, Jacqueline Fernandez made some startling revelations about her association with Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to the actress, she had been in touch with the alleged conman since February 2017 and had met him in person in 2018.
Fernandez went on to explain that Sukesh had lied to her about his background, claiming to be the owner of Sun TV and hailing from the political family of Jayalalithaa. She further revealed that after his arrest in August 2021, she had cut all ties with him and had no knowledge of his whereabouts.
What’s more, the actress claimed that Sukesh had never disclosed his incarceration to her and would make calls from a concealed location, with only a curtain and sofa visible in the background. These revelations have sent shockwaves through the industry and have further complicated the ongoing investigation into the alleged money laundering case involving the duo.
