Fog Engulfs UAE: Motorists Alerted as Visibility Drops!

The UAE witnessed dense fog blanketing several regions on the morning of January 10, 2025, prompting the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) to issue red and yellow alerts. Areas in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafrah were heavily affected, leading to decreased visibility and warnings for motorists to exercise caution.

Affected Areas in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

In Dubai, thick fog was reported over Al Qudra, Al Minhad, and Ruwayyah, while Abu Dhabi faced similar conditions in Arjan and Razeen. The Al Dhafrah region experienced dense fog in areas like Habshan, Hamim, Owtaid, and Basa Dafas.

Safety Warnings for Drivers

Follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and motorists. Authorities recommend reducing speed, maintaining a safe distance, and using fog lights while driving. Avoid using high beams as they can further obstruct visibility during foggy conditions. Drivers should stay in their lanes, signal appropriately, and park safely if stopping becomes necessary.

Weather Forecast and Expected Conditions

The NCM predicts that foggy weather may persist due to humid mornings and nights. Temperatures in coastal regions will range between 21°C and 27°C, with lows between 10°C and 15°C. Light to moderate winds, reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h, may accompany the conditions.

Recent Weather Patterns in the UAE

The fog comes on the heels of other weather events, including rain and hailstorms in parts of Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah earlier this week. Residents have been experiencing a mix of weather patterns, highlighting the diverse climate shifts in the UAE.

Stay Safe and Updated

The authorities emphasize the importance of staying informed about weather updates and adhering to safety precautions during adverse conditions. Monitor updates from official sources for real-time alerts, drivers, and residents.
