RTA: Temporary Adjustment in Dubai Metro Timings for COP28

Sustainable Commuting and Future Transportation Initiatives at Expo City Dubai

In preparation for COP28, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has made temporary amendments to the Dubai Metro timings, offering an efficient and sustainable transportation option for visitors heading to Expo City Dubai during the event.

Scheduled to take place from Thursday, November 30, to Tuesday, December 12, 2023, COP28 will witness extended Dubai Metro operating hours from 5 am to 1 am the following day.

Sustainable Commuting for COP28

For those unfamiliar with Expo City Dubai or seeking an eco-friendly mode of transportation, the Expo 2020 Metro station conveniently leads directly into the venue, minimizing the need for extensive walking. As COP28 focuses on addressing climate change issues, opting for the Dubai Metro aligns with the event’s sustainability goals.

Convenient Parking Options

To enhance convenience further, several main Dubai Metro stations, including Centrepoint, Etisalat by e&, and Jebel Ali Station, provide free multi-level car parking facilities. This allows visitors to avoid potential traffic congestion and enjoy a hassle-free journey to and from COP28.

Alternative Sustainable Options

Should attendees prefer alternatives to the Metro, Expo City Dubai will offer over 10,000 hybrid taxis and 1,000 electric luxury vehicles, available for booking through the Hala Taxi platform. Users of luxury vehicle services like Uber, Careem, and Yango can also find four designated pick-up points within Expo City: Opportunity Gate, Mobility Gate, Sustainability Gate, and the Metro Gate.
