Camp Between Two Mountains In This New ‘Floating’ Retreat In The UAE

Winter and camping go hand-in-hand in the UAE. After all, this is the only season when you can pitch a tent, and a have a barbecue party. And now, the region is set to take the camping experience to a whole new level with a ‘Floating’ retreat. Yes, you read that right! Soon, you’ll be able to camp between two mountains, while staying in a tent suspended mid-air. Are you brave enough to try it? If so, read on to know more!

Dubai based company Ardh is set to elevate your camping experience by letting you stay in tents that will will be suspended mid-air. While this one’s sure to give you butterflies in your stomach, it will also put your bravery to test while treating you to some exhilarating views. Ardh’s new floating development is set to ‘have ‘hang’ (quite literally) out between the Sharjah mountains.

The facade of the campsite is set against a natural backdrop, with 10 pyramid-shaped pods suspended between the mountains. The pods are made of fabric and chromoly steel, which are lightweight, fireproof, breathable and waterproof materials and are designed to fit two people inside. Guests can enjoy complete private inside the pods, as the tents are made of blur fabric on the sides, while the front of the tents are made of clear material to provide uninterrupted views.

And that’s not all! The tents will be decked with all the amenities, just like a five-star hotel room. Guests can enjoy room service, entertainment, as well as Wi-Fi access via headsets and tablets. Each pod is also fitted with a private bathroom as well as access to a five-star spa facility at the top of the mountain. 

Guests can access the tent all though winter, while in summer (May to September) the tents will be open only for day use. A restaurant and concierge are located at the ground floor reception area, where you can also book private guided tours of the area.
