Sharjah has taken another step towards a smarter city by launching two new AI-powered public parking lots in Al Khan and Al Qasimiyah (Al Nad). These facilities, which offer 392 parking spaces, are part of the city’s broader efforts to enhance urban mobility and convenience for drivers.
With more than 90,000 smart parking spaces now available across Sharjah, these new additions aim to make parking effortless, eliminating the need for paper tickets and manual payments.

How the Smart Parking System Works
The newly launched parking areas rely on smart cameras that read vehicle license plates upon entry and exit. Instead of traditional parking meters or tickets, the system automatically calculates the duration of stay and sends a fee notification to the driver.
To complete the payment, users can simply use the ‘Mawqef’ mobile app, available for download on major app stores. This digital solution removes the hassle of searching for payment kiosks, ensuring a more efficient parking experience.
Flexible Payment and Subscription Plans
Sharjah City Municipality has made it easier for drivers by offering various subscription plans. Users can opt for daily, weekly, monthly, or even yearly subscriptions, depending on their parking needs.
These plans can be activated through the Mawqef app, where users enter their vehicle details and select the desired duration. Whether it’s short-term parking or long-term convenience, this system ensures flexibility for residents and visitors alike.
