The movie has completed 10 glorious years today, and we can still watch it once again. It was directed by Rohit Shetty and starred Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, forming a hit jodi in the lead roles.
Deepika Padukone celebrates 10 years of Chennai Express by recreating her famous dialogue
As the film completes 20 years, Deepika took to her Instagram and shared a funny video, recreating her very famous ‘Bakwaas Dictionary’ which went viral. Instead of Shah Rukh, Deepika’s heartthrob husband Ranveer Sing joined in to recreate the video and play King Khan’s dialogue.
In the video, which seems to have been captured during the days of Bajirao Mastani, we catch a glimpse of a bald Ranveer Singh, adding a hilarious twist to the reminiscence. The throwback clip is nothing short of a joyous ride down memory lane, evoking laughter and fond memories of the dialogue of Chennai Express.
Deepika shared the video on her social media and accompanied it with a lovely note. She candidly admitted that taking on the challenge of comedy was no easy feat. Deepika’s caption read, “They say that comedy is the most difficult genre for an actor. So when I was offered ‘Chennai Express’, I knew I had a daunting challenge ahead of me. And while it took me a little while to find Meenama, a process that is extremely lonely and often . times frightening. I’m grateful that we were able to create a character that is not only synonymous with the movie, but also one that continues to receive an abundance of love till this date.“

The film, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika, was a blockbuster hit in 2013, crossing the 200 crore mark with a whopping collection of Rs 227.13 crores at the box office.
Ranveer Singh And Deepika Padukone’s Work Front
According to reports, the actor is likely to be seen next in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra, although there hasn’t been any official announcement yet. Additionally, it is rumored that Ranveer will play the role of Don in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3.
Moving on to Deepika Padukone’s upcoming projects, she is set to appear in the movie Kalki 2989 AD, which stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on 12th January 2023. Furthermore, Deepika will make a cameo appearance in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, slated for release on 7th September. She also stars alongside Hrithik Roshan in their upcoming movie Fighter, expected to be released on 25th January 2024.
