From stadium cheers to spiritual chants, the duo sought blessings from the ever-wise Premanand Maharaj.

Just a day after Kohli’s emotional retirement from the whites, he and wifey Anushka were spotted soaking in the peace at the sacred ashram in Vrindavan. The couple looked every bit calm and connected as they interacted with Shri Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj.
In a moment that screamed soulful over spotlight, Maharaj Ji asked the cricketer, “Prasanna ho?” – a gentle nudge to check in on the legend’s heart. To which Kohli humbly replied, “Ji, abhi thik hain.”
Anushka asked the saint, “Kya naam jap se ho jayega?” (Can chanting the name lead us there?). Maharaj, like the life coach we didn’t know we needed, laid it down: “Completely… I’m sharing this from my life experience. I have come to Bhakti Yoga after experiencing Sankhya Yoga, Ashtang Yoga, and Karma Yoga. It’s true that an increase in one’s glory and fame is not considered to be the grace of God. God’s grace is when there is a change in thinking within a person… God shows us the path of ultimate peace. Shri Krishna said in the Gita that my devotee is never destroyed. Chant God’s name with joy.“
This isn’t the couple’s first spiritual pitstop. Earlier this year, a video of their visit to the same ashram had gone viral, where Maharaj praised Anushka for keeping Virat grounded even at the peak of his superstardom.
Spirituality, soul-searching, and silent strength-Virushka just served it all.
