UAE Residents And Citizens Can Now Get Birth & Death Certificates Online In One-Day

UAE aims to make our daily lives simpler, and the country is launching varied online services for its residents and citizens. After updating the visa and permit services, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) on Thursday announced a digital service to provide customers with efficient services. Emiratis and residents can now apply for birth and death certificates online for AED60 only. As per the ministry’s website, the service will be completed within one working day. 

Besides this, if you have lost a death or birth certificate, you can also use this service to request the re-issuance or replacement of the certificate. For newborn Emiratis- the ministry is offering the ‘Mabrouk Ma Yak’ package. It will help the parents obtain ID cards and passports for their infants. 

This electronic system will simplify the process and improve automation plans. So if you plan to apply for the certificates, here are all the documents you need.

Applying for birth certificates online in the UAE

Required documents for Expats – birth notification, marriage document or declaration from the parents certified by the embassy of the country to which they belong or by a notary public. Furthermore, parents also need to submit identity cards or passports, if any.

Required documents for Citizens– Copy and original of the parent’s marriage certificate for the first national child, copies and originals of parents’ passports and IDs and copy and original of the family book. 

Process To Apply For The Birth Certificate Online
  • Send an SMS with the notification number and the location of the service provider.
  • Sign in to e-services, enter username and password, and log into the e-system.
  • Submit the application via the e-system and pay the fees online.
  • Receiving the certificate by delivery to the person concerned or a representative or by visiting a public health centre in the same emirate for verification and matching of original documents.
  • In the case of using WhatsApp, the certificate will be issued electronically.
Process To Apply For The Death Certificate Online
  • Sign in to the e-service portal, obtain a username and password, and log in to the e-system.
  • Submit the application and pay the fees.
  • Attach the relevant documents.
  • Public Health Center in the respected emirate will verify the attachments.
  • Receiving the certificate by delivery to the person concerned or a representative or by visiting a public health centre in the same emirate for verification and matching of original documents.
