Every grade of fuel is more expensive this month. Here is how the new rates compare with September, based on the figures released by the Fuel Price Committee.

FuelSeptember 2026October 2026Change
Super 98Dh3.80Dh4.40+15.8%
Special 95Dh3.69Dh4.28+16%
E-Plus 91Dh3.61Dh4.21+16.6%
DieselDh4.30Dh4.80+11.6%

In plain terms, the three petrol grades are each up by around 60 fils a litre, and diesel is up by 50 fils. E-Plus 91 has the biggest percentage rise, while diesel has the smallest.

How much a full tank costs now

For a car with a 60 litre tank, a full fill-up in October works out as follows:

  • Super 98: Dh264
  • Special 95: Dh256.80
  • E-Plus 91: Dh252.60

Drivers of larger SUVs and pick-ups with bigger tanks will feel the change more. If you fill up once a week, the extra cost adds up quickly over the month, so it is worth checking which grade your car actually needs. Many everyday cars are designed to run happily on Special 95 or E-Plus 91, and your owner’s manual will tell you the minimum octane rating.

Why fuel prices went up

The UAE sets fuel prices once a month, and the committee says the rates “reflect movements in global energy prices while taking local market requirements into account”. September was a volatile month for oil. Gulf News reported that Brent crude moved from $94.07 a barrel at the end of August to $108.06 in mid-September, before easing to $98.10 by 21 September, as disruption to regional energy flows kept markets under pressure.

October’s petrol prices are still below the record levels seen in July 2022, according to the same report.

What drivers can do

Some residents are already changing their routines. Khaleej Times spoke to Dubai commuters who plan to take the Metro more often, combine client visits by area, or ask their employers about working from home on some days. For regular Metro users, a 30 day all-zone Nol pass in the regular class costs Dh350.

Simple habits also help: keep your tyres at the correct pressure, avoid harsh acceleration, and plan errands so you make fewer separate trips. For the history of recent changes, see our report on UAE fuel prices for September 2026, and browse more UAE motoring news on Social Kandura.
