Some good news for UAE drivers at last. The UAE Fuel Price Committee has announced fuel prices for November 2026, and petrol is coming down after three straight monthly increases that pushed it to its highest level this year. The new rates take effect on Saturday, November 1.
UAE petrol and diesel prices for November 2026
| Fuel | October 2026 | November 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super 98 | AED 4.40 | AED 4.16 | Down 24 fils (5.5%) |
| Special 95 | AED 4.28 | AED 4.04 | Down 24 fils (5.6%) |
| E-Plus 91 | AED 4.21 | AED 3.97 | Down 24 fils (5.7%) |
| Diesel | AED 4.80 | AED 4.75 | Down 5 fils (1%) |
E-Plus 91 is back under AED 4 a litre. Diesel drivers get much less relief, with a cut of only 5 fils.
What it means for a full tank
On a 60 litre tank you save AED 14.40 on any petrol grade:
- Super 98: AED 249.60, down from AED 264
- Special 95: AED 242.40, down from AED 256.80
- E-Plus 91: AED 238.20, down from AED 252.60
- Diesel: AED 285, down from AED 288
If you drive a large SUV with an 80 litre tank and fill up with Super 98, a full tank now costs AED 332.80, saving you AED 19.20 every time. If you put about 240 litres a month into the car, the cut saves you around AED 57.60 a month. Planning a drive across town? Why did prices drop when oil went up?
This is the part that has confused a lot of people. Brent crude rose about 13.6% in October and finished the month around USD 117 a barrel, its highest level in six months. So why are pump prices going down?
The answer lies in how the UAE sets its prices. Since fuel prices were deregulated in August 2015, the committee has reviewed them at the end of each month, based on how global crude and refined fuel prices moved over the whole month, not on the closing price on the last day. What counts is the monthly average, not the final number.
For most of October, oil was cheaper than the headline figure suggests. Brent started the month below USD 100 a barrel, and most of its climb came in the last ten days. On October 22 it posted its highest close since May, at USD 113.17, after reports that the US and Israel were considering further strikes on Iran, and it then kept rising toward USD 117 to 118. Before that, talks mediated by Qatar to end the US and Iran conflict, and hopes of peace negotiations, held prices lower for much of the month.
Because the rally came so late, it barely moved October’s average. That is why November’s pump prices could fall even though oil ended the month near a six month high. The committee does not publish a detailed breakdown of its calculation, but the timing of October’s price moves is the most likely explanation.
Why diesel barely moved
Diesel fell by only 5 fils because supply in the region is tight. In October, tankers were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, and the Houthis claimed attacks on Saudi energy sites, including the Ras Tanura and Rabigh refineries and the Abqaiq production facility. Refined fuels like diesel are especially sensitive to this kind of disruption, and higher shipping and insurance costs on routes through the region push diesel prices up further.
The bigger picture: still far above last year
Even after this cut, fuel in the UAE costs far more than it did a year ago. Super 98 was AED 2.63 in November 2025 and is AED 4.16 now, about 58% higher. In January 2026 it was AED 2.53.
The Iran war, now in its ninth month, has driven this year’s price rises. Fuel climbed steeply from March to June, dipped briefly in July, then rose again through August, September and October. October’s Super 98 price of AED 4.40 was just 23 fils below the all time UAE record of AED 4.63, set in July 2022. Before the announcement, we looked at whether motorists would face another increase in November; in the end, drivers got a cut instead.
What to expect in December
Don’t expect the lower prices to last. Oil finished October much higher than where it started, so December prices could rise if crude stays around USD 115 or above through November. The key things to watch are whether Washington goes ahead with further strikes on Iran after the US midterm elections on November 3, any more attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, and whether the talks mediated by Qatar make real progress.
Frequently Asked Questions

Super 98 is AED 4.16 per litre, Special 95 is AED 4.04, E-Plus 91 is AED 3.97 and diesel is AED 4.75. The prices apply from November 1, 2026.
Why did UAE petrol prices drop in November 2026?
