UAE announces petrol, diesel prices for May 2023

Fuelled up your vehicle over the weekend? Well, you’re lucky then (at least until next time). The UAE on 30 April announced petrol and diesel prices for May 2023. And, the sad news is that fuel prices have increased this month. The UAE fuel price committee on April 30 announced the new rate card for petrol and diesel prices for the month of May 2023.

Starting today- May 1, Super 98 petrol will increase to AED3.16 a litre from AED 3.01 in April. Additionally, Special 95 petrol will cost AED3.05 per litre, compared to AED2.90 in April. E-Plus 91 petrol will cost AED2.97 a litre. In April, this was priced at AED2.82 a litre.

However, the good news is the diesel prices has witnessed a drop. The price of diesel in May will be AED2.91 per litre, which a drop from AED 3.03 in April. After two months of increases, the fuel price committee slightly decreased the rates in April by 8 fils per litre. Here’s the breakdown in price per litre for this month:

• Super 98: AED3.16 — from AED3.01 in April

• Special 95: AED3.05 — from AED2.90 in April

• Diesel: AED2.91 — from AED3.03 in April

• E-plus 91: AED2.97 — from AED2.82 in April
