Winter in the UAE isn’t just popular for outdoor cafes and markets; it’s also the season for outdoor activities like climbing over the rocky highlands of Fujairah or kayaking in Hattaor. Friendly animals, a museum, and even a salt cave are available at RAK Natures Treasures in Ras Al Khaimah to provide a break from the rush and bustle of cities in nearby emirates.

RAK Natures Treasures allows you to find your inner peace in a sanctuary surrounded by nature. The natural history museum is a private collection of over 2,500 perfectly preserved gemstones, fossils, seashells, preserved insects and bugs, taxidermy animals and birds and herbs and spices from all over the world. The museum is also home to a salt room, cactus garden, reptile room, fish ponds, veggie farming, greenhouse, turtle pond, flamingo wetland, a petting zoo and miniature goat playground.

The eight-hectare inner-city farm in RAK is around an hour’s drive from Downtown Dubai. Visitors can interact with tamed animals, choose fresh produce from the farm, look through a collection of jewels, and engage in other activities to have a taste of rural life.

A towering pigeon house that is a component of the neighborhood’s petting zoo is one of its standout features. Along with a variety of birds like ostriches, flamingos, and peacocks, the farm also has horses, donkeys, sheep, turtles, and sheep.

After roaming among the animals, guests can check out the museum inside the attraction, which has a large collection of fossils and preserved insects as well as stuffed birds and other creatures.
