Bollywood actress, Sonam Kapoor, renowned for her fashion sense and an embodiment of true diva, has been summoned to grace the coronation concert of King Charles III. This grandiose ceremony shall witness the presence of many well-known personalities from the world of cinema and music. Not only that but, Sonam Kapoor shall deliver a spoken word on the historic day of May 7.
Amidst the grandeur of the regal setting, Sonam is preparing herself for a momentous occasion – her first appearance before royalty. She will be giving a spoken word performance, as she introduces the legendary Steve Winwood and the exclusive Commonwealth virtual choir. The actress resides in the city of London with her husband Anand Ahuja and son Vayu. She will be the only Bollywood star to have this honour.
To honour the coronation of King Charles III, Sonam Kapoor will be joined by a group of renowned personalities that includes Tom Cruise, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Pooh. While Joan Collins, Tom Jones, Bear Grylls, and Oti Mabuse will take part in video segments that have been pre-recorded.

The upcoming celebrations promise to be nothing short of spectacular, featuring a dazzling array of ceremonial, celebratory, and community events, sure to capture the hearts and imaginations of all those in attendance. “Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce further details on the ceremonial, celebratory, and community events that will take place over the Coronation Weekend between Saturday 6th and Monday 8th May 2023,” read the recent release by the palace. According to the official release by the palace, “The Service will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. As previously announced, the Service will reflect the Monarch’s role today and look towards the future while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.”
In terms of her professional commitments, Sonam Kapoor’s next project is the action-packed thriller ‘Blind’, helmed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh.
