New AED1,000 Note To Come In Circulation Next Week

UAE-ites, are you planning to withdraw some cash? If yes, then we suggest you wait till Monday, April 10th. Why So? Well, it is because the new AED1000 note will enter circulation on Monday, April 10th. Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) shared this news and stated that the new notes would be available at banks and exchange houses. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

The new banknote will be in circulation alongside the current AED1,000 note, whose value is guaranteed by UAE law. The new currency is an ode to UAE’s achievement and vision. The front side features the image of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan alongside a space shuttle inspired by his meeting with NASA pioneers in 1974. Whereas- the back side depicts Abu Dhabi’s Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, a key player in the country’s energy diversification and carbon emissions reduction efforts.

And to ensure the authenticity of the note and to fight to counterfeit of the currency, the new note has advanced security features, including modern technologies such as SPARK Flow DIMENSIONS, used for the first time in banknotes circulated in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Also, the CBUAE has added major symbols in Braille to help blind and visually impaired consumers to identify the banknote’s value.

So if you want to grab the new AED1,000 note, ensure to head to bank on April 10th and grab some of those notes.
