In a momentous step towards sustainable transportation, Daimler Commercial Vehicles MENA (DCV MENA), in collaboration with Emirates Motor Company Commercial Vehicles (EMC CV), has officially rolled out its first 40-ton electric truck, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 Tractor Head, in the United Arab Emirates. The symbolic handover ceremony took place at the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Training Centre in Dubai and was attended by key stakeholders from RoadSafetyUAE, DHL Global Forwarding, DCV MENA, and EMC CV.
The launch aligns seamlessly with the spirit of COP28, underlining Daimler Truck’s commitment to shaping a greener future for the commercial vehicle industry. This groundbreaking electric vehicle represents a paradigm shift towards electrification and zero-emission mobility, embodying a fusion of cutting-edge features that redefine efficiency, safety, and environmental consciousness.
Setting the Standard for Zero-Emission Transport
The Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 boasts a state-of-the-art combination of sustainability and road safety features, setting a powerful example in the realm of zero-emission transportation solutions. Equipped with advanced safety technologies, including the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System, fifth-generation Active Brake Assist with pedestrian detection, Stability Control Assist (ESP), and Lane Keeping Assist, the eActros 300 prioritizes the safety of drivers and surrounding road users.
Inside the driver’s cockpit, the vehicle features an interactive Multimedia Cockpit and the second-generation MirrorCam system, replacing conventional mirrors. These innovations contribute not only to environmental goals but also ensure a safer ride for drivers, pedestrians, and other road users.
Mercedes-Benz eActros 300: A Greener Future in Action
Over the next decade, the transition to electric mobility is projected to yield remarkable results in terms of CO2 reduction. Compared to conventional diesel Actros, the eActros 300 is expected to save approximately 240 tons* of CO2 over ten years. Extrapolating this impact to the estimated 250,000 trucks on UAE roads, the potential savings represent a staggering 60 million tons of CO2 over a decade.
