Al-Futtaim has launched the Lexus RZ500e and ES500e in the UAE, the first fully electric Lexus models sold in the country, with a new ES350h hybrid joining the range. It gives UAE buyers of luxury SUVs and sedans an electric Lexus option for the first time.

What Al-Futtaim announced

Al-Futtaim, the UAE distributor for Lexus, announced the arrival of the Lexus RZ500e and ES500e on 8 October 2026 in Dubai. These are the first battery electric Lexus models offered in the UAE, and they cover two of the brand’s key segments: the RZ500e is a medium luxury SUV and the ES500e is a medium sedan.

The RZ500e sits on a platform built only for battery electric vehicles. The new generation ES comes with two electrified powertrains: the fully electric ES500e and the ES350h hybrid. Full model details are on the official Lexus UAE website.

Jacques Brent, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Lexus, pointed to the brand’s two decades of hybrid experience, going back to the first Lexus RX hybrid in 2005. He said the three new models are meant to give customers “more choice without compromising on the experience they expect from the brand.”

Lexus RZ500e: specs at a glance

The RZ500e uses two electric motors and the Lexus DIRECT4 all wheel drive system, which keeps shifting power between the front and rear wheels to help with stability and handling.

New generation Lexus ES: ES500e and ES350h

The new ES is bigger than the outgoing car. It is 5,140 mm long, which is 165 mm longer than before, and its wheelbase grows by 80 mm to 2,950 mm, which Lexus says frees up cabin space.

The top ES500e Platinum DIRECT4 AWD adds 21 inch alloy wheels, semi aniline leather seats and Adaptive Variable Suspension, and the ES500e supports Type 2 three phase 22 kW charging.

The ES comes in seven exterior colours, including the new Sou and Sonic Copper, and three interior colours, including a new White.

What the Lexus RZ500e and ES500e mean for UAE drivers

Until now, UAE buyers who wanted an electric luxury SUV or sedan had to look beyond Lexus. The RZ500e and ES500e change that, while the ES350h gives buyers who are not ready to go fully electric a more powerful and more efficient hybrid ES.

Both electric models support 22 kW three phase AC charging, which suits villas and buildings with three phase supply, and the RZ500e adds CCS2 DC fast charging for longer trips between emirates. Practical tips before you buy

  • Ask the showroom for the price of each trim, since Al-Futtaim has not published UAE prices yet.
  • Check whether your home or building has three phase power before relying on 22 kW AC charging, and ask about installing a wall charger.
  • Treat WLTP figures as a guide. Speed, air conditioning use and driving style all affect how far you get on a charge.
  • If you mostly drive long distances between emirates, note that the RZ500e announcement lists CCS2 DC fast charging, so confirm the DC charging spec for the ES500e with the dealer.
  • Book a test drive of both the ES500e and ES350h if you are undecided between electric and hybrid.
