Ranveer Singh plays a Punjabi Munda – Rocky Randhawa in the film. In an interview with Film Companion, the director Karan Johar shared how he wanted Ranveer’s character to be. He shared, “Rocky needed to be this lovable boy. He had to be Poo but updated. He was like the male Poo, and he was like the Ken to Barbie. It’s all ironic that Barbie is out here now. So, he was like the perfect kind of Ken, who has had rough edges.” The director further said that he wanted Rocky to be lovable, vulnerable and clueless about the world.
Though we know that nobody can beat Kareena Kapoor Khan as Poo, it wouldn’t be wrong to call Ranveer that. I can totally imagine it. Moreover, he is like a complete Indian Ken doll in every sense.
