Remember the days when Kangana Ranaut was Bollywood’s sweetheart, making headlines for her powerhouse performances and irresistible charm? Well, those days are long gone! Now, it seems like she’s controversy’s favorite child, and she’s back in the news – this time for her upcoming film, Emergency.
With Emergency just around the corner, the drama has already started brewing. Kangana, who plays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in this intense political drama, is facing backlash even before the film hits the screens. The movie, which delves into the 21-month Indian Emergency from 1975 to 1977, has some people seriously riled up so much so that death threats are now part of the mix.
Kangana Ranaut recieves shocking threats
Just when you thought things couldn’t get crazier, a video surfaced online showing a couple of individuals threatening Kangana’s life, all because of her portrayal in the film. The threats were serious enough for the Queen actress to take to social media, tagging police from Himachal, Maharashtra, and Punjab, and saying, “Please look into this.”
A video that is going viral, a man, blending Hindi and English like a pro, warned Kangana. He said, “If you release this film, Sardars will beat you with slippers. You’ve already taken a slap. I’m a proud Indian, and if I spot you anywhere in my Maharashtra, not just me but all my Hindu, Christian, and Muslim brothers will welcome you with chappals.”

And it didn’t stop there. The threats got even more chilling, with another man adding, “History cannot be changed. If Sikhs are portrayed as terrorists in the film, remember what happened to the person you’re portraying. If we can sacrifice our heads, we can also take heads.”
The internet, of course, had a field day with this. While some netizens were horrified by the threats, others demanded action. One concerned fan tweeted, “What is happening in our nation? People are openly threatening the life of BJP MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut simply for portraying India’s history. Is it wrong to tell the story of the Iron Lady of India? Please, increase your security. We’re genuinely concerned for your safety.” Another chimed in, “This goon Ajaz needs to be arrested.”
