Bollywood and politics literally go hand in hand. From Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan to Kangana Ranaut, many stars have swapped film sets for Parliament seats. Now, the buzz is that Preity Zinta might be the next star to join the political bandwagon! But before you start imagining her giving fiery speeches, let’s set the record straight, the actress has finally spoken up about all the speculation!
Currently settled in Los Angeles with hubby Gene Goodenough and their adorable twins, Jai and Gia, Preity is gearing up for her Bollywood comeback with Lahore 1947. But is she also eyeing a political career?
Preity Zinta Reacts to Politics Rumors
During a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on X (formerly Twitter), fans bombarded Preity with questions – from her return to the silver screen to her political aspirations. One fan, clearly hyped, wrote, “You are truly a ‘Soldier!’ Just curious, any plans to join politics?”
Preity, being the absolute shut down the rumours with the sweetest answer. She shared, “You are truly a ‘Soldier!’ Just curious, any plans to join politics?” Zinta promptly responded, “No! No politics for me. Over the years, various political parties have offered me tickets and Rajya Sabha seats, but I have politely declined because it’s not what I want. Calling me a soldier is not entirely off-base since I am a soldier’s daughter and a soldier’s sister. We fauji kids, or army brats, are wired differently. We are not defined by North Indian, South Indian, Himachali, or Bengali identities; we are simply Indians ??. Yes, patriotism and national pride are in our blood. If you know, you know Ting!”

Social Media Drama? Preity Calls Out the Toxicity!
Politics aside, Preity also had some thoughts about the madness on social media, and she didn’t sugarcoat anything! A fan asked about her experience with political controversies in the past, and Preity got real about how brutal the online space has become.
She shared, “I’m surprised at how toxic social media in India has become, where every comment and observation is politicized. I’m not a politician, nor am I interested in politics, but as a person, I find this deeply disturbing. However, I’m also not someone to be easily bullied—if anyone tries, they’ll be in for a rude shock.”
If confidence had a face, it would be Preity Zinta right now!
Preity Zinta’s Grand Comeback: What’s Next?

The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, features Sunny Deol in the lead and has already created a lot of buzz. With legendary names like A.R. Rahman composing the music and Javed Akhtar penning the lyrics, this one’s shaping up to be a cinematic masterpiece!
