indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan launches Sports Café in Dubai

Shikhar Dhawan, an Indian opener, is often regarded as one of the sport’s three most fearsome batsmen. He now intends to rule the culinary world after opening his first international café, the “Flying Catch Sports Café,” in Dubai. As of now, we don ‘t have details on where in Dubai the cafe will find a home.

By entering the food industry, Dhawan hopes to build a community of sports enthusiasts, and provide them with wholesome meals and snacks. In addition, the cafe will also donate one percent of sales to regional sports initiatives in the United Arab Emirates.

A haven for foodies of all kinds, Dubai has developed a reputation as a culinary mecca, with residents hailing from over 220 different countries.

According to the Dubai Gastronomy Industry Report published in September 2022, the city welcomes more than 20,000 Food & Beverage outlets and 858,000 Indian tourists annually, which makes it the fourth best destination for food lovers. The average consumer spends 120 minutes in the F&B locations and 100 AED on their meal.

Dhawan’s new café business has healthy cuisine, video games, and celebrity endorsements all with a sports theme. Both company owned, company operated (COCO) and Franchise Owned and Company Operated (FOCO) are used by Flying Catch Sports Café .

That’s not all! Flying Catch Sports Café, will also expand into cold press juice, healthy snack, and ready-to-mix ingredient markets. Dhawan will use the profits from Flying Catch Cafe to support the development of young athletes in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) by contributing one percent of every sales to the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation and Da.one Sports- a sports academy owned by Shikhar himself. The academy has various programmes, like the Grass Root Innovation Program and the Sports Training Programme. It also focuses on developing sporting culture at the foundation level,
