His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has affirmed that sports is one sector which the UAE pays close attention to. Recently the Dubai Ruler welcomed the champions of the ADNOC Pro League 2022-23. Well, we all did a happy dance when the Shabab Al Ahli Dubai football club was declared the winner of the ADNOC Pro League 2022-23 and HH Sheikh Mohammed did not shy away either. The Dubai ruler’s enthusiasm is infectious and this video is proof enough. Take a look.

The Dubai Ruler did a celebratory dance, expressing his happiness after the victory of Shabab AlAhli Dubai Football Club. In a video shared by Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Dubai’s Protocol Department, the players and officials of the club are seen welcomed by Sheikh Mohammed with some traditional dance steps.
Furthermore, Sheikh Mohammed also congratulated the players for their hard work to win the 2022-23 Adnoc Pro League championship. “With your efforts, determination, persistence, team spirit and understanding, the victory was yours. It is possible for you to get first place. But the biggest challenge is to maintain it,” he told the players.

Also present at the event was Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance; Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council; and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council.
Well, this is not the first time HH Sheikh Mohammed has done a little gig to celebrate a victory. Here are few such moments:
1. Dubai World Cup victory
HH Sheikh Mohammed celebrated the Godolphin team’s victory with a celebratory dance. Dubai Media Office shared a video of the Ruler doing a little dance after Team Godolphin’s Old Persian won the Dubai Sheema Classic – the eighth race of the Dubai World Cup.
2. Godolphin’s win at Royal Ascot
In June 2019, the Dubai Ruler celebrated Godolphin’s remarkable double win with a traditional Emirati dance. Godolphin’s horse, Blue Point, won in both the King’s Stand Stakes and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes. His entourage joined in with cheers and congratulations.
3. a doting grandfather
We all know by now that HH Sheikh Mohammed is a doting grandfather. Several videos and photographs of the ruler enjoying precious moments with his grandchildren have gone viral. In 2018, his daughter Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed, who is married to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, shared a video of HH Sheikh Mohammed spending some family time with his grand sons. And, in the video the ruler is seen joining his grandson for a quick dance.
