In a groundbreaking move set to transform travel in the Gulf region, all six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states are on track to introduce a unified tourism visa by 2025. This exciting development promises to make exploring the region even more accessible and convenient for tourists.

Streamlined Travel

Once the common tourism visa proposal is presented this November at the GCC summit, it will pave the way for the eventual launch between 2024 and 2025. The rollout is contingent on the development of specific regulations and legislation, as well as the readiness of all countries’ internal systems.

With the introduction of the GCC common tourism visa, travelers will gain the remarkable advantage of using a single visa to visit all six gulf states, which include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. This simplified process promises to make multi-destination trips within the region much more convenient for tourists.

A Key Element of GCC 2030 Tourism Strategy

The GCC’s move toward a common tourism visa aligns with its 2030 tourism strategy. This strategic initiative aims to enhance the tourism sector’s contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by fostering increased travel between GCC countries and boosting hotel occupancy rates. Ultimately, it aspires to position the Gulf Cooperation Council as a premier global destination for both regional and international tourists.

As travelers anticipate this seamless and unified visa system, the GCC is poised to become a more prominent and accessible hub for visitors from around the world.

The introduction of a common Gulf Cooperation Council tourism visa is set to revolutionize travel within the Gulf region. By 2025, tourists can look forward to the convenience of exploring multiple Gulf states with a single visa, contributing to the region’s aspirations of becoming a global tourism hotspot. This development underscores the GCC’s commitment to advancing its tourism sector and fostering economic growth.
