Saudi Arabia Declares Eid Al Fitr 2024 Holiday Dates: Four-Day Break for Public and Private Sectors

Marking the End of Ramadan with Joy and Celebration

Saudi Arabia has declared the holiday dates for Eid Al Fitr 2024, bringing good news for everyone in the kingdom. Both public and private sector employees will enjoy a four-day break starting from Sunday, April 7.

Holiday Details

The holiday kicks off after work on April 7 and extends until April 11, giving most workers a well-deserved break. This timeframe corresponds to Ramadan 29 and ends on Shawwal 3 according to the Islamic calendar.

Extended Break

Since Friday and Saturday are already weekend days in Saudi Arabia, people will have six consecutive days off, from April 8 to April 13.

Bank Holidays

In addition to the general holiday, Saudi banks and financial institutions have announced an extended nine-day break to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. They will close on April 4 and resume operations on April 14.

Significance of Eid Al Fitr

Eid Al Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting which began on March 11. The exact date of Eid Al Fitr will be confirmed after the sighting of the moon at the end of Ramadan, which can last either 29 or 30 days based on lunar observations.
