Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) is set to revolutionize transportation in the UAE by expanding its services beyond Dubai. This expansion will introduce more taxi, limousine, and ride-hailing options in multiple emirates, creating seamless connectivity for residents and visitors.
DTC’s Strategic Expansion Plans
Currently operating over 9,000 vehicles, including 6,000 taxis, DTC is now planning to launch services in other emirates. The move aligns with its goal of enhancing public transport accessibility while improving customer experience.
DTC recently partnered with global e-hailing platform Bolt, integrating its fleet with advanced ride-hailing technology. This partnership aims to provide reliable, efficient, and affordable transport solutions across the UAE.
Dubai Taxi: New Services on the Horizon
In addition to taxis and limousines, DTC is exploring various mobility services, including:
- E-scooter and e-bike rentals – A convenient solution for short-distance travel.
- Food and grocery delivery – Enhancing last-mile delivery options.
- Short-term car rentals – Offering flexibility for residents and tourists.
These services will improve urban mobility, catering to diverse transportation needs while reducing traffic congestion.
Sustainability at the Core
DTC is prioritizing sustainability by incorporating more electric and hybrid vehicles into its fleet. This step supports Dubai’s long-term vision for a greener and smarter transportation network. With eco-friendly taxis already in operation, the company aims to expand its sustainable fleet further in the coming years.
Autonomous Taxis Coming Soon
Dubai is on track to introduce autonomous taxis by 2026. DTC has already started testing self-driving vehicles, which will soon be available for public use. This initiative will position Dubai as the first city outside the US to commercially operate autonomous taxis.
What This Means for UAE Residents and Visitors
With more taxis, ride-hailing services, and innovative mobility options, travel within the UAE will become more convenient and cost-effective. DTC’s expansion will improve public transport accessibility, making commuting easier for both residents and tourists.
