Which New Bus Routes Are Being Introduced?
The biggest announcement is the launch of four new bus routes connecting key communities and Metro stations.
The new services include:
- Route 35: International City ? Dubai Silicon Oasis, operating every 30 minutes during peak hours.
- Route 85: Al Quoz (Al Khail Gate) ? Dubai Internet City Metro Station, operating every 20 minutes during peak hours.
- Route 37A: International City ? Dubai Silicon Oasis Lake, running every 30 minutes during peak hours.
- Route 37B: Dubai Silicon Oasis Lake ? International City, also operating every 30 minutes during peak hours.
These routes are expected to benefit thousands of residents travelling between residential communities, technology parks, commercial centres and Metro stations. Dubai Silicon Oasis, in particular, has seen significant residential and business growth over the past few years, increasing the demand for reliable public transport.
Which Existing Bus Routes Are Changing?
Alongside the new services, RTA has confirmed revisions to 13 existing routes to improve operational efficiency and make transfers between buses and the Metro more convenient.
Some of the key changes include:
- Route 27 will now travel via Al Mustaqbal Street instead of Al Sukook Street. Passengers can use Route 29 as an alternative where required.
- Routes 36A and 36B will no longer operate on parts of their routes between International City and Dubai Silicon Oasis. Travellers heading towards Academic City and Dubai Silicon Oasis can instead use the newly introduced Routes 37A and 37B.
- Route 67 will terminate at Oud Metha Bus Station instead of Al Ghubaiba, providing easier access to the Dubai Metro Green Line.
- Route 84 will now end at InsuranceMarket Bus Stop instead of Mall of the Emirates. The new Route 85 will serve passengers travelling between Al Quoz and Dubai Internet City Metro Station.
- Route 88 will terminate at ONPASSIVE Metro Bus Stop instead of Umm Al Sheif Street, while passengers heading to Dubai Internet City can use Route 8.
- Routes 96 and X94 will be rerouted via Al Yalayis Street and Jebel Ali instead of Expo Road.
RTA has advised commuters to review the updated routes before travelling to avoid any inconvenience.
Metro Link Services Are Also Getting Better
Several Metro feeder bus services are also being expanded to improve first- and last-mile connectivity.
The changes include:
- F06 extended to serve Nad Shamma
- F29 revised to serve Umm Al Sheif instead of Umm Suqeim 3
- F36 extended to Al Barsha South 2
- F47 modified to serve staff accommodation in Jebel Ali Industrial Area
Meanwhile, F49 will no longer stop near the Parco Hypermarket area when travelling from Danube Metro Station. Passengers can instead use Routes 56, 95A, F47 or F53.
These feeder buses play an important role in helping commuters complete the final part of their journey after using the Dubai Metro, making public transport more convenient for residents living away from Metro stations.
Express Bus Services Will Also See Route Adjustments
RTA is also making changes to improve travel times on some of its busiest routes.
Among them:
- Route C01 will follow a revised path between Flame Intersection 2 and Dnata 2 during evening peak hours to reduce congestion.
- Route X22, travelling towards Al Qusais Industrial Area, will bypass stops inside Business Bay and operate directly from Business Bay Metro Bus Stop via Sheikh Zayed Road. Passengers within Business Bay can instead use Routes F14 and F41.
These adjustments are designed to improve journey times while reducing delays during busy travel periods.
