Dubai’s RTA Auction: Unique License Plates Up for Grabs

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is excited to announce its upcoming auction on October 12, where bidders will have the chance to acquire 90 exclusive license plates. Among these are the highly desired AA17 and V96 plates, which have generated a lot of buzz among car enthusiasts and collectors.

Why Unique License Plates Matter

In the UAE, having a unique or low-numbered license plate is more than just a vehicle identification; it’s a status symbol. Many people believe that these plates reflect wealth and sophistication. As a result, events like this auction draw significant attention, with participants eager to secure their place in the elite circle of luxury car owners?.

Auction Highlights

This auction will feature license plates with two, three, four, and five digits. Plates that begin with the codes AA, L, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z will be available?.

Recent sales show that such plates can fetch impressive prices, with the AA16 plate selling for Dhs 7.32 million. Many expect AA17 to reach similar heights.

How to Register for the Auction

Registration for the auction opens on October 7. Interested bidders can sign up through various channels:

  • The RTA’s website
  • The Dubai Drive App
  • Customer Happiness Centres located in Umm Al Ramool, Deira, and Al Barsha

Due to limited seating in the auction hall, it’s best to register early. However, on-the-spot registration will also be available starting at 2 PM on auction day?.

Requirements for Bidders

If you want to bid in the auction, here’s what you need:

  • A valid Traffic File in Dubai
  • A security cheque of Dhs 25,000 made out to the RTA
  • A non-refundable participation fee of Dhs 120

Winners should also remember to include a 5% VAT on the final price?
