Abu Dhabi Police Announces Eight New Rules For Food Delivery Drivers

Safety first is something that UAE strongly believes in. And to ensure the safety of food delivery riders, Abu Dhabi Police has announced eight delivery safety rules that the delivery drivers have to follow while delivering food to customers. The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols, Abu Dhabi, has said that these requirements will enhance the safety of drivers and road users. Read on to know everything.

As per the latest requirements, drivers need to ensure that the external dimension of the food delivery box should be 50 centimetres in width, length and height. Besides this, the edges of these boxes shouldn’t have any sharp corners and should be covered with a phosphorescent reflector.

The delivery box should be mounted on a bike seat or a rear saddle. And all the delivery boxes should have clear identification writing at a distance of 20 metres. It must also include the chassis base number printed on it. The front hatch opening of the box should be made with fibreglass and fixed securely to ensure a smooth opening.

All these efforts are being made so that the drivers are well informed about the safety rules they need to keep in mind while delivering food and laws they should follow on the road so that traffic accidents can be avoided.
