Emirates has unveiled a new electric Premium Economy seat for its Airbus A350 aircraft, giving passengers a full-height adjustable privacy screen, wireless charging and a 4K HDR entertainment system. The Dubai-based airline announced the new seat on September 3, 2026, as part of its continued expansion of the Premium Economy cabin. The new configuration has 28 seats arranged in a 2-3-2 layout, with each seat measuring 20 inches wide and offering up to 39 inches of pitch.
The new seat puts privacy front and centre
The biggest change is the electrically operated privacy divider.
Unlike a conventional divider, the new screen extends to the full height of the seat. Passengers can raise or lower it using the integrated seat controls and lock it in place.
That gives travellers more separation from neighbouring passengers while they work, eat or relax.
The seat itself is also fully electrically powered. Emirates says passengers can adjust their position through an integrated Passenger Control Unit, including dedicated lounge and meal modes.
It reclines into a cradle-style position designed to avoid intruding into the space of the passenger sitting behind.
For people taking long-haul flights, the combination of additional privacy and adjustable seating could make the Premium Economy cabin a more comfortable option without moving up to Business Class.
Wireless charging and a 4K screen arrive
Technology is another major part of the redesign.
The new Premium Economy seat introduces wireless charging to the Emirates cabin for the first time. Each seat also comes with USB-C charging, giving passengers another option for keeping phones, tablets and other compatible devices powered during a flight.
The tray table has an integrated phone holder as well. This allows passengers to keep their phone upright while using it as a second screen alongside the seat’s entertainment display.
The main screen is a 13.3-inch 4K HDR touchscreen, connected to Emirates’ ice inflight entertainment system.

Emirates adds more views from the A350

Emirates is also adding more exterior camera views on newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft.
Passengers will have access to four viewing angles: forward, downward, and new left- and right-facing perspectives.

The airline is also introducing the U-Dream headrest by Safran Seats. The leather headrest has adjustable wings designed to provide additional head and neck support.

Emirates launched Premium Economy in 2022 and has steadily expanded the cabin since then.
The airline has been investing in the product as part of a wider fleet modernisation programme involving its Airbus A380s, Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s.
In January 2026, Emirates announced plans to extend Premium Economy to 10 more cities while expanding its latest cabin products across more than 84 routes by July 1, 2026.
The A350 has become an important part of that rollout. Emirates has been introducing the aircraft on more routes from Dubai, including services to destinations such as Taipei and Kuala Lumpur.

On long-haul flights, passengers also receive reusable amenity kits created in partnership with United for Wildlife.
The kits use bio-based materials and feature endangered wildlife from different natural habitats. Emirates is also introducing plant-based Aveda skincare products to its Premium Economy amenity collection.
These additions are part of the airline’s broader effort to position Premium Economy as more than simply extra legroom and a wider seat.
