The IWD (India Women in Dubai) Awards celebrated the Women Achievers, Cancer Warriors, and Children of Determination.
Founded by Reema Mahajan, Indian Women in Dubai is the largest Indian Expat women-only platform in the UAE, with nearly 50,000+ members. An IIT-IIM Alumna, Reema believes in the mission of #womensupportingwomen. IWD is about empowering women and celebrating women – providing them opportunities to network for business or socially. This year’s event was aimed to showcase Diversity and Inclusion and witnessed two Special Performances from adorable kids from Children of Determination and from Brave Women Cancer Warriors in association with the Al Jalila Foundation. This year’s theme was chosen to raise awareness of the importance of providing an inclusive environment. Life is sure not as easy, but determination and commitment to the cause are required. We can make a difference in our lives just with our positive attitude.
And to further add more sparkle to the event, the Indian Actress, Fashion Designer, and Television Presenter – Mandira Bedi was the Celebrity Guest who flew all the way from Singapore to Dubai to be a part of it.

Such beautiful performances and moments of emotions! It’s lovely to see the sense of community that IWD has created. I’m more than happy to have been present here and share this moment. The event was full of energy and emotion, and I thank IWD for inviting me.

The Cancer Patient Survivors did a ramp walk to raise empowerment which made everyone, including Mandira Bedi emotional and moved her to tears. Mandira Bedi took to social media to show her appreciation for performances by children of determination.
A second esteemed guest also made a virtual appearance. H.E. Dr Aman Puri, Consulate General of India, Dubai, took time out from his busy schedule and graced the event long-distance. He shared, “We look at the IWD as an important stakeholder within the Indian Community living in UAE, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership and support. Women supporting women – is the best of the values that these awards highlight. It is entirely my loss for not being to join personally, but I am truly delighted to be a part of this event.”
The winners for the different categories include Arati Agarwal for Best Dancer, Malavika Varadan for Best drama institute, Alba Rose for Most Impactful Social Work, Dr Vidya from DMU University for Excellence in Education, Susmitha Dhruva for Best Artist, Sherry Gupta and Shraddha Barot Amariei for Best PR to name a few.
An initiative of IWD, Indian Women Awards 2022 is a platform to acknowledge and recognize the sheer hard work and passion our Indian Women have shown in different spheres of life. And this Sunday, we celebrated the achievements of women!
