  • Abu Dhabi: Maintain a maximum speed of 30 km/hour.
  • Dubai and Sharjah: Limits vary between 30 and 40 km/hour.
  • Sharjah’s residential areas: Speed limits between 25 to 40 km/hour.

School Zones: UAE’s Vital Traffic Regulations and Speed Limits

Violations incur fines as follows:

  • AED 300 for exceeding the limit by up to 20 km/hour.
  • AED 600 for exceeding the limit by up to 30 km/hour.
  • AED 700 for exceeding the limit by up to 40 km/hour.
  • AED 1,000 for exceeding the limit by up to 50 km/hour.
  • AED 1,500 + 6 black points, 15-day vehicle confiscation for exceeding the limit by up to 60 km/hour.
  • AED 2,000 + 12 black points, 30-day vehicle confiscation for exceeding the limit by more than 60 km/hour.
  • AED 3,000 + 23 black points, 60-day vehicle confiscation for exceeding the limit by up to 80 km/hour.

School Bus Safety: Heed school bus stop signs. Stop completely and maintain a 5-meter distance for safe student crossing. Violation results in an AED 1,000 fine and 10 black points.

Mobile Phone Usage: Avoid mobile phone use while driving. Offenders face an AED 800 fine and 4 black points.

Reserved Parking Violation:
Illegally parking in spaces for People of Determination attracts an AED 1,000 fine and 6 black points.
