Triptii Dimri was the poster child of raw and poignant storytelling. With Qala and Bulbbul, she became Bollywood’s go-to for impactful content-driven roles. Fast forward to her Animal era, and suddenly the industry is abuzz with chatter about her “sexualized” image.
In an exclusive with Forbes India, Triptii unapologetically addressed the backlash surrounding her bold choices. She shared, “If I like a character or a story, I want to give it my 100%.”
As for the critics, she had a mic-drop moment, saying, “There will be some people who like you and some who don’t. You can’t keep all that noise in mind.”
Reflecting on her choices, she shared, “Tomorrow, you may call it a mistake, but today, it feels right. And that’s all that matters.” Whether she’s acing intense dramas or bringing laughs in comedies like Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, she’s dedicated to staying true to her craft.
Speaking of Vicky Vidya, Triptii confessed that comedy is no joke (pun intended). Sharing the screen with veterans like Rajkummar Rao, Vijay Raaz, and Mallika Sherawat was no walk in the park. “Comedy is the toughest genre,” she admitted. But Triptii being Triptii, she turned the challenge into yet another learning curve.

On the work front, she is gearing up for Arjun Ustara, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. Sharing the frame with Shahid Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, and Nana Patekar, this film promises to be a game-changer. The film is slated to release on December 5, 2025.
