In a recent turn of events, Gauri Khan, the prominent interior designer and wife of Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, has found herself in the midst of legal troubles. An FIR has been registered against her in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, under section 409 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for criminal breach of trust.
The complaint has been filed by Kirat Jaswant Shah, a Mumbai resident, who invested in a property in the Tulsiani Golf View project in Sushant Golf City, Lucknow, promoted by Tulsiani Construction and Development Limited. Shah alleges that he paid approximately Rs. 8.6 million for a flat in the said project but has not received possession of the same till date. Notably, Gauri Khan is the brand ambassador for the realty developers, and she has been named in the FIR along with Anil Kumar Tulsiyani, the managing director, and Mahesh Tulsiyani, the director of the company.
Shah has accused the Tulsiani Group of transferring the agreement of the flat he booked to somebody else, and he claims that Gauri Khan’s promotion of the project influenced his decision to buy the flat.
It is worth mentioning that Gauri Khan is a well-known interior designer and has worked on the homes of various Bollywood celebrities, including Farah Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor, and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others. Recently, she even started her own show, where she redesigns the houses of popular stars in the film industry.
This development comes at a time when Gauri’s husband, Shah Rukh Khan, has been riding high on the success of his latest blockbuster, ‘Pathaan’. The movie has crossed the Rs. 10 billion mark worldwide and breached the Rs. 5 billion net in Hindi within a month of its release. Nevertheless, the FIR against Gauri Khan is a serious matter, and it remains to be seen how the legal proceedings unfold.
