Well, buckle up, because King Khan is about to bring back that magic this time at IIFA 2024! And joining him? None other than his BFF Karan Johar. Yep, the iconic duo is set to host the grand event, and the hilarity has already kicked off.

Last night at the IIFA 2024 pre-event in Mumbai, SRK and KJo gave us a sneak peek of what’s to come. And let me tell you, Shah Rukh did not hold back when it came to roasting his long-time friend and frequent collaborator, Karan. In a video making waves on social media, the “Jawan” actor took a hilarious jab at KJo for hosting award shows way more than actually making movies these days.
SRK, in his classic cheeky style, said, “Karan’s told me he won’t rehearse for hosting, he’s doing it all on Zoom.” And while KJo tried to hide his face, Shah Rukh wasn’t done. He continued, “‘Bhai, main Zoom pe karlunga, main toh itna hosting karta hoon. Picture bhi bana mere bhai, kitna host karega!’” Translation: “Bro, you’re always hosting. Make a film already!”
The crowd? Totally lost it. KJo? Equally stumped and embarrassed, but being the sport he is, he just laughed along. Then, in a rare moment of self-awareness, Karan quipped, “I was thinking the same thing when Siddhant Chaturvedi said the same thing. This feels so wrong for a filmmaker. I really should be making more movies!”

Now, if you know SRK and Karan, you know these two go way back way back. Think “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” when KJo was playing SRK’s friend onscreen! From being actor and director in iconic films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and My Name is Khan, their friendship is not only of an actor-directors. The two also invite each other to close events and family gatherings! Come on, you think of KJo without any family love!
