what we know so far about the world’s largest water project
Moving over to what we know so far about the project, the complete details aren’t out as yet. However, Al Shugairi -a popular reporter from Saudi has shared some insights. For starters, the project will be longer than the Nile river itself- hard to believer, but this one’s going to be real soon.
The project will use anti-corrosion pipes with a diameter of 2.25 metres and aims to out-do the 6,650-kilometer-long Nile river. Furthermore, Al Shugairi claims that the water pipelines used will be big enough to transport water from one place to another, once the project is completed. This clearly means Saudi is targeting a water project that is twice the size of the Nile.
The pipes under Saudi cities are 126,000 kilometres long and would generate 9.4 million cubic metres of water every day if they were to circumnavigate the globe thrice.
Well, this is only one of the many fascinating projects Saudi Arabia has announced recently.
